Safe Bridge Solutions was once again a sponsor of this year's Madison BarCamp event on Saturday, August 27, 2011. BarCamp is an international network of user-generated conferences that are open, participatory workshop-events whose content is provided by participants. BarCamps often focus on early-stage web applications, related open source technologies, social protocols, and open data formats. Attendees are the event presenters, bringing ideas they want to share and present to the BarCamp community.
Participation in last year's event exceeded 100 attendees. Many sessions will be available in either audio or video form and cover a wide range of topics. Safe Bridge's Managing Partner Gary Reitz was asked to serve on United Way's Hi-Tech Campaign Cabinet as Vice Chair. Gary has been very active with the United Way of Dane County for over 25 years helping them work toward accomplishing community goals through the Agenda for Change.

Safe Bridge Solutions is once again pleased to be a Tee Box Sponsor at the 5th Annual Drive Out Hunger Charity Golf Classic sponsored by the Alliant Energy Foundation to benefit the Second Harvest Foodbank. This event, held on July 18th raises funding and awareness to support the efforts of this worthy organization.
The Alliant Energy Foundation was formed in order to help improve the quality of life in the communities where Alliant Energy has a presence. The Foundation’s programs reflect a commitment to play an active role in those areas and to give back to future generations.
Second Harvest is linked into the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity (Feeding America). That allows Second Harvest to help distribute money raised at this event to food banks across the Alliant Energy service areas. Local agencies operate hunger relief programs including: food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after-school programs, Kids Cafes, Community Kitchens and BackPack programs.

Safe Bridge Solutions participated in Wisconsin Public Television’s and The Wisconsin Educational Communications Board’s Blueprint: Learning for Life. The program discusses what is being done in Wisconsin to preserve our state’s economy, and how together we may help students prepare for their uncertain future. Blueprint: Learning for Life shows how schools, businesses, and community volunteers are working together to prepare students for the future workplace. The program features interviews with students, community volunteers, and business leaders who are working together creating innovative science, technology, engineering, and mathematics programs throughout Wisconsin.
The Blueprint: Learning for Life series is set for Wisconsin Public Television release in December, 2010.

UW Whitewater CyberGirlz Technology Camp

On July 30, 2010, Safe Bridge Solutions sponsored a presentation for the University of Wisconsin Whitewater's CyberGirlz Technology Camp to help promote Information Technology to young female middle school students. This FREE technology camp was held July 26-30, 2010.
This hands-on learning experience, directed to girls entering 6th and 7th grades, is a fun and exciting way for them to learn about:
- Designing and building a website
- Creating a digital scrapbook and slideshow
- Digital video recording
- Building a computer
Safe Bridge Solutions sponsored Kacie Conroy who, for the third year, delivered her GET IT (Girls Educating Themselves about Information Technology) program. Conroy's program uses roll playing to teach the differnent types of Information Technology careers available upon college graduation.

Two triathlete keynote speakers supported the event theme of "Going the Distance with Project Management". One speaker shared her personal journey completing the Ironman in Hawaii, after having a leg amputated at a young age, as an example of striving toward project continuation under adverse circumstances.
