Quality Assurance Analyst

Quality Assurance analysts ensure product quality. They detect problems and identify what’s missing by applying a testing methodology that includes an assessment of the testing approach, the analysis and design of test conditions, the execution of test cases, and the evaluation and reporting of outcomes.

As a Quality Assurance analyst, you will analyze functional/system requirements to determine the testing requirements; create appropriate test documentation; perform testing and track problems and fixes; ensure that all tests are conducted and documented according to the standards agreed upon by the business and technology teams; and document and report outcomes. This will require collaboration with project managers, business analysts, technical resources, and other QA analysts.

In short, QA analysts try to break things in order to improve product quality. The job involves an investigative attitude to identify both problems and anything that might be missing to ensure the end product is of the highest quality.
